In our favourite paragraph Aurora tells the story of process of prepation for the day:

“It all started with the dress.  Periodically, I raid the Kitsilano Kitty’s Closet to play dress-up and find unique pieces to show off at various fashion events about town.  I’ve worn outfits from The Closet to Christopher Bates’ launch at Holt Renfrew in April, and to Alfie Italia’s recent styling event in Gastown.   As usual, Helen Siwak patiently sifted through her room full of vintage luxury finds to pick out pieces that might work for the Deighton Cup.  At the point of nearly exhausting all options, I came across this beautiful Luisa Cerano silk maxi dress – it was breezy and light, very summery with the bright florals, and easy to slip on.  All positive points for an afternoon outside under the hot sun.  Bonus point – the dress happened to colour match with a pair of gorgeous blood orange Ted Baker heels I had just bought from Mine&Yours.  Bingo!  We had found a winner.  Thank you Helen yet again for dressing me in fabulous designer style so I looked my best when making my entrance at another chic event.”
