Eco Fashion Week (#EFW09) is launching Edition 9 over five days this spring. From April 19 to 24, a diverse mix of eco-minded fashionista, designers, stylists, photographers, media and a myriad of west coast stylebloggers will congregate at the Fairmont Waterfront.
Through speaker seminars, industry panels, eco-challenges and exciting runway shows, founder and President of Eco Fashion Week, Myriam Laroche keeps the fashion-conscious and sustainable-minded consumer enlightened and entertained. With more than 20 years of experience in the apparel and fashion industry, Laroche is the smiling face of EFW and one of the world’s experts in the field of sustainable fashion.
This season’s exciting announcement is the participation of H&M and the official launch of the latest Conscious Collection as part of EFW. The CC line contains garments that are created not only with sustainable materials and recycled content but incorporates manufacturing processes that limits energy and water use.
When the Conscious Collection was created in 2013 with its seven commitments, each with hundreds of Conscious Actions.
“At H&M, we have set ourselves the challenge of ultimately making fashion sustainable and sustainability fashionable. We want to help people express their personality and feel proud of what they wear. I’m very excited to see the progress we’ve made so far and how this will help us to make you an even better offer – and create a more sustainable fashion future,” CEO Karl-Johan Persson explained.
To sweeten the experience, H&M is giving away 100 pairs of tickets to the show and anyone can enter to win by dropping off unwanted clothing at H&M to be recycled. In return, recyclers will receive a coupon for a discount on their next purchase and be entered to win a pair of tickets to the runway show. For more info on the garment collecting program visit the H&M website.
