Diego Venturino is a young fashion designer from Bologna, Italy. He is passionate about life and is influenced heavily by art both sacred and profane. Driven by hard work and passion, Diego launched his streetwear line Artees in 2012. Through casual separates he uses his fashion voice to communicate the purity, the creativity and the uniqueness of Italian art through fashion. He believes that fashion, as in art, can be that everyday vehicle to bring his message to the masses. The line is bold and in-your-face and consists of basic black or white t-shirts with screened symmetrical imagery heavily influenced by Vatican statues and ceilings, American superheros and Andy Warhol, historical political figures; even Santa Claus makes a seasonal appearance. Fabrics are cotton, fleece, denim and leather. All of the Artees collection is manufactured entirely in Italy guaranteeing the highest quality that the distinctive ‘Made in Italy’ label represents.
Designed by Chinese sweetheart Chao Wei, this streetwear line is specifically for the open-minded and playful at heart. The clothing shows unrestrained imagination and is dedicated to perpetuating the feeling of young love and joy. Separates have a youthful attitude and attracts an avid fan that is at the forefront of street style. The Shanghai based brand enjoys a wide range of commercial appeal in China where it has branched off into art, home, coffee and music, and prides itself on being a complex fashion brand with more than 200 associated stores nationwide. Vancouver Fashion Week will be North America’s first peak at this whimsical line and it is sure to be popular given Vancouver’s propensity for streetwear and our love of an often chastised casual approach to dressing.
