Nordstrom Vancouver launched their latest pop-in with Opening Ceremony, the iconic multifaceted retailer and fashion brand launched in 2002.
Artist Max Lamb designed the pop-in shop. Lamb specializes in contemporary one-of-a-kind furniture pieces and custom made the chiseled granite table and designed the pixilated ‘white noise’ print flooring. Lamb also framed the shop with wavy brass tubing and finished it off with a rippled flesh coloured latex curtain which can only be described as a very odd choice.
Inside the curtain are pieces from Opening Ceremony’s Resort 2016 collection which was inspired by the suburbs and dog show culture. Customers can shop apparel and accessories for men and women, including picks like a reversible faux-fur coat, a suede leopard-pattered zip-front mini skirt, a laser-cut faux leather tunic, and classic varsity jackets. This collection is fur and leather free and we applaud OC for this.
Alongside the Opening Ceremony collection are a few OC styles and collaborations that are only available at the pop-in Vancouver and the Los Angeles outpost. Opening Ceremony designed classic striped tees, knit gloves and hats, dog-motif key chains and small bags, and tiny leather varsity jacket key chains just for Nordstrom. The team at OC also partnered with Harding Lane for exclusive quirky needlepoint baseball hats, Alpha Industries for custom reversible bomber jackets in new color combinations, and put fun crystal designs on classic slippers from Minnetonka.
Accessories including charming Venessa Arizaga jewelry, Isaac Nichols pottery, and Alix bodysuits round out the shop.
Next week check back as Maxime Favreau catches up with the team from Alexander Wang at the T by Alexander Wang instore held on November 6th.
