Luxury retailer CICINO launched with a splashy grand opening on this past rainy Friday. The historic Vancouver Club sparkled with old world charm, as did the jewels on the well-heeled attendees. It quickly became apparent that the Pascal Millet runway was the event to be seen at as the over-capacity crowd elbowed their way into the coveted front row seats with late arrivals and media relegated to standing room only.
The Spring Summer 2016 line debuted at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year but this is Pascal Millet’s first Canadian runway appearance and the city showed its appreciation.
The SS16 collection included a range of versatile wearable pieces that channeled the 1970s and the romance of a Mediterranean vacation. Bell bottoms and snakeskin, striped silks and gauzy light cottons, interspersed with chunky knits and embossed textures.
After the runway, the champagne and the flashbulbs, the crowd was ushered in across to 848 Hastings where the management formalized the launch with the cutting of a giant red ribbon amid cheers.
Very quickly the two mezzanines and main floor filled up and everyone enjoyed impassioned performances by Studio Cloud 30 led by Warren Flandez and duo Eli & Rosemary.
Pascal Millet’s visit to Vancouver was a great excuse for a fantastic party and now it is CICINO’s turn to show us their brand of luxury is reason to keep the celebration going.
